The wildebeest migration, also known as the Great Migration, is a spectacular annual event involving over 1.5 million wildebeest, alongside zebras and gazelles, traversing the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem in East Africa. Beginning in the southern Serengeti with the calving season from January to March, the herds move northward in search of fresh grazing, facing perilous river crossings teeming with crocodiles in the Grumeti and Mara rivers from July to October, before returning south with the rains in November and December
