Nyerere National Park

The Nyerere National Park, formerly known as Selous Game Reserve, is Africa’s largest wildlife sanctuary. The park was named after the late Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere, the Nation’s founder. The Park, which was formed in the year 2019, spans over 30,000 square kilometers. Nyerere National Park, Africa’s largest wilderness area, features relatively undisturbed ecological and biological processes, including a varied range of fauna with a strong predator-prey relationship.
